Options/Complementary Courses

Grade 1:

Drama - Through different drama conventions the students will be able to explore a classic folk tale while expanding their French vocabulary. Grade ones will be performing a puppet show. The final mini-drama production will also include the students from the  music option who will incorporate songs, sound effects, etc. to enhance the presentation.
Art  -  Inspired by Canadian artists such as Norval Morrisseau and Ted Harrison, this class introduces your child to basic art skills and gives them the opportunity to grow as young artists. This will strengthen their knowledge in art, and further develop art vocabulary and skills in French> Through this comprehensive curriculum, your child has the opportunity to work with different paint mediums and techniques.
Technology - Students will access, use and communicate information from a variety of computer tools. they will be introduced to keyboarding to create original text. As well, students will create visual images by using such tools as paint and draw programs. They will create at least one project to be shared with their peers.

Grade 2:

Drama - Through different drama conventions the students will be able to explore a classic folk tale while expanding their French vocabulary. Grade two students will be performing a theater production. The final production will also include the students from the  music option who will incorporate songs, sound effects, etc. to enhance the presentation.
Acadian Art - Inspired by Acadian landscapes and artist Maud Lewis, students will produce two art pieces.  They will produce one watercolour on paper and one acrylic painting on canvas.

Grade 3:

Drama - Through different drama conventions the students will be able to explore a classic folk tale while expanding their French vocabulary. Grade three students will be performing a theater production. The final production will also include the students from the music option who will incorporate songs, sound effects, etc. to enhance the presentation.
Art - Students will complete art projects relating to our Social Studies curriculum. The art projects will be a reflection of some of the cultures we are studying this year (Peru, Ukraine, India and Tunisia). 

Grade 4:

Drama - Through different drama conventions the students will be able to explore a classic folk tale while expanding their French vocabulary. Grade four students will be performing a theater production. The final production will also include the students from the music option who will incorporate songs, sound effects, etc. to enhance the presentation. 
Cooking - Students will learn the basics needed to cook.
